We got in a new bluebird finger puppet and the timing was perfect.  I had a hip replacement in July - my second one.  My recovery has gone well so I celebrated with a free bluebird finger puppet to customers that made a purchase in early August.  This new bird has a blue body with a reddish front and black feet, beak and eyes.  I is about 4 inches tall and 5 inches long.

Other New Puppets

Among the other puppets recently releases in the dragonfly.  It is very well priced at under $5.00 each.  This critter has a bluish green body with silk screened wings.  You can put you finger in the body from underneath to make the wings flutter.  We have updated our list of the newest puppets coming this year.

Two new puppets were released this week. The Scottish Fold Kitten and the Lucky Dog. The luck dog was in stock just short while and will be back in early June. The Scottish Fold Kitten has a gray body with brown highlights and a white chest and face. The mouth and forelegs are both moveable.

New Scorpion Book and Scorpion Puppet

We just found a great book to go with our new Folkmanis scorpion puppet that came in this week. Scorpion book for kids by Anita Ganeri is a softcover book with color illustrations that will be great for the 5 or 6 year old boy (or girl) that loves creepy crawly things.  The book has lots of information about the day and night life of the scorpion that lives in deserts.

Folkmanis Emperor Penguin Puppet Just Arrived

We have just gotten the new Folkmanis Emperor Penguin Puppet.  It is about 14 inches tall and has a moveable mouth and flippers.  The body is white with the classic black wings and gold under the beak.

We have a list of some of the new puppets coming in the summer of 2013. They include an Anteater, Camel, Grasshopper, Little Ladybug, Red Octopus, Scorpion, and Desert Tortoise hand puppets. There will also be a Steller Jay bird puppet. No pictures yet.

Discontinued Wolf in Sheep's Clothing Puppet

 The latest Folkmanis puppet that has been retired in the Wolf in Sheep's clothing. It was a wolf puppet underneath a removable sheep's skin. The mouth and two legs were moveable also. We have limited stock.


The sea lion has again been discontinued. We are not away of it coming back anytime soon, so get one now if you missed out.

Mini Groundhog is Great for Groundhog's Day

 Recently retired Folkmanis puppets: mini Pheasant, Mini Moose, Mini Groundhog, Black Faced Sheep stage puppet, Rockhopper Penguin, Sea Serpent stage puppet, Mini Black Sheep, Dachshund. The mini weasel, sea otter and wolf in sheep's clothing are scheduled to be discontinued soon.

Folkmanis has slightly increased the prices of 8 hand puppets and 3 finger puppets: Baby Black Bear, Bassett Hound, Burrowing Owl, Amazon Parrot, Raven, Skunk, Flying Squirrel, and Gray Wolf. The three finger puppets are the mini chipmunk, mini hummingbird and the mini field mouse.

New Folkmanis Horse, Crab and Little Puppets

We have four more new puppets in stock. One of our favorites is the new Horse puppet that is brown with a white blaze. This is similar to a previous brown horse that they made, but now has the nice white blaze down the forehead.

The 20 inch-long horse has a moveable mouth. Put your hand into the head from underneath the horse to move the mouth.





Folkmanis Crab Puppet



The Folkmanis crab puppet was also released this week. There have been a number of versions of crabs over the years, the dungeness crab, the all orange crab and this one with variegated orange and purple colors. It is very realistic at about 12 inches wide (a real keeper in the Puget Sound waters) and you can move the two large claws as well as the smaller legs.

The last two new puppets that came out are part of the Little Folkmanis Puppet series, designed for younger kids so they can move the puppets with their smaller hands. The Little brown bear puppet goes nicely with Brown Bear Brown Bear or the Teddy Bear's Picnic books. The Little Polar Bear puppet rounds out the newest addtions with an all white polar bear that has black eyes and a moveable mouth and paws.

We have several new hand puppets and two new finger puppets.  The Folkmanis mini woodpecker and the mini Lop Eared Rabbit finger puppet.

There is also a new series of Folkmanis little puppets that are designed for young children. The Folkmanis little Alligator hand puppet is 7 inches tall, 5 inches long, and 4.5 inches wide (17.8 x 12.8 x 11.4 cm). The mouth and two paws are moveable. The green alligator puppet has fierce teeth for such a little alligator.

We just got in the Folkmanis Baby Sloth puppet. There used to be a sloth puppet years ago, so I will bet that this will be a great addition. It has a moveable mouth and there are hook and loops on the front and back legs to let it hang in several positions.

New Folkmanis puppets for 2012

We now have a list of the new Folkmanis puppets scheduled to be released in 2012. They include a new line of "little puppets" that are easier for little kids to use.  Several are due in January 2012.  There will also be some new hand puppets and finger puppets, including a baby sloth, cow and horse.  I will add some pictures when they come in.

Oktoberfest in Langley Washington on October 1, 2011

I have always loved the Fall. We moved a lot when my Dad was in the military and often moved in the summers. So we often went to a new school in the Fall where we met new kids. Maybe meeting new people was the interest. My birthday is in October too! Fall leaves and beautiful colors. Pumpkins and cooler weather.

We don't have many Halloween type puppets, but we do have the Folkmanis Witch Stage puppet that was recently discontinued.  You might what to get one before they are all gone.  I feel the cool Fall breezes already.

Three new Folkmanis Puppets in Friday

We will be getting in three more new puppets tomorrow.  The Bison puppet, cheetah and the pika finger puppet.

New Folkmanis Bison Puppet

The Folkmanis bison puppet is 15 inches long, 10 inches tall and 7 inches wide (38.1 x 25.4 x 17.8 cm). The mouth and the two front legs are moveable. He has shaggy forelock and is in a standing postion.

The Folkmanis Cheetah Puppet  is 19 inches long, 12 inches tall and 6 inches wide (48.2 x 30.5 x 15.2 cm). The mouth on this yellow and black spotted creature is moveable. 

The mini pika finger puppet was released in August 2011. This cute mouse critter is light brown with a lighter face and feet. It rests in a somewhat sitting position. The pika is 5 inches long 3 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide (12.7 x 7.6 x 6.4 cm). We have all kinds of mice finger puppets, so checkout the other ones too.
